Free Weekly Running Groups:

Group Runs:
-Wednesdays at 6:15pm
(3 to 6 mile run)
-Saturdays at 8:00am
(3 to 10+ mile run)
-Meet at West Seattle Runner

Our bi-weekly group runs focus on building healthy base mileage and getting runners incorporated into the local running community. You run at your own pace, and we can provide you with a route for your desired mileage that starts and ends at the shop. While it is not required to run with others, it is easy to find a group/buddy doing a similar run to your own. A great way to stay accountable for your weekly mileage!

before shifting to Hiawatha Track

Our track group is focused on building speed, strength, form and fortitude. Each week you will receive a planned track workout with a coach available to help guide and encourage you. Looking to bring down your mile time? Chasing down that new personal record? This might be the group for you!

West Seattle Runner Annual Christmas Light Run

Join us for our Annual West Seattle Runner Christmas Light Run! This year we have a fun addition to our adventure! Brooks had so much fun at West Seattle Runner for the recent demo run that they want to come out to our Light Run!!! Brooks will be here for anyone who wants to demo a pair of Ghost or Adrenaline on the route. Put on your holiday gear, lights, strands of light, reflective gear and headlamp or flashlight. We are hitting the ‘hood in search of the best light displays. This is always a fun get together, a very easy 2.5 to 3 mile group run. We take it very leisurely. There are always walkers. Bring your dog, your kids, your family and your friends! We will gather at the shop afterwards for cookies and cider, nog and hot chocolate. Will this be the year that we have carolers in the mix? We hope! Feel free to bring donations for the Food Bank

Last Run Group of the Year and OUNCES Social After!

Come for our last group run of 2025! While this is typically a track workout, we will be adding the option for a regular road run as well. This is an ALL COMER group run. Those interested in doing track, will still be provided with a track workout. There will also be routes provided for other distances. We will have sparkling cider and champagne for toasting afterwards. Optional activity: before the run, you are invited to write down all the things from the year that you wish to let go of and we will literally burn it. You will also be invited to write down goals for 2025, the strengths, wins and teachings from 2025 to take along with you on your run and intentions to put out there for 2026! This has been a fun tradition over the years. Tim will provide the bbq for the burning ceremony.

WE WILL HEAD TO OUNCES afterwards for some social time to celebrate the end of year together and toast the New Year with food and drink.

WALK Fit Kick Off

West Seattle Runner is excited to announce the newest addition to our group training programs: WALK Fit. This will be a group training program for walkers to get ready for a 5k and/or 10k. The 5k is Feb 8th and the 10k is March 1st. Come to find out more at the info night on Dec 10th at 6:30pm. There will be walk groups each week as you train with partners. West Seattle High School XC Shopping Day

Join us for a Holiday Shopping Day at West Seattle Runner on Saturday, December 6th! 10% of sales will be donated to the West Seattle High School Cross Country Team. Their team of more than 120 athletes has doubled in size in recent years and funding can’t keep up with expenses.
The team shared:
"We are raising money to close the gap for bus fees, new jerseys, coach stipends, training equipment and more. Thanks to an incredible partnership with West Seattle Runner, we provide shoes to runners in need and funding to help the critical list above. Your support helps us continue to provide opportunities for these athletes thrive on and off, of the course".

Seattle Marathon Cheer Station

We had a great cheer station on the Seattle course last year. We have had folks voice interest in cheering on friends this year again. West Seattle Runner will be working and/or running and cannot be there at the cheer stop. If we have interested folks, can you please register here? And if anyone is interested in being Cheer Station Team Captain we will be paying in running product! Please let us know if you are interested in that position. We will hammer out the location with the Team Captain and can provide a tent in case of rain and any other supplies you might need!

Gobble Gobble Group Run

Come join us for our community’s 16th annual West Seattle Runner Gobble Gobble Group Run. We will meet at Alki at the first covered shelter across the street from Alki Coffee Co as per usual. We will run and/or walk a 3 mile out and back. Feel free to turn around whenever you would like, whatever fits your fitness and timing needs. All paces are truly welcomed.
We welcome folks to gather for coffee afterwards, West Seattle Runner will provide coffee (and a tent in case of rain).
We will be doing a raffle drawing to add holiday cheer to this time of year! And as a way to shower love on those we are so grateful for!
As ALWAYS- bring food donations for the food bank if you would like.
You are welcome to wear Thanksgiving inspired gear!
We are grateful for this community all year through and look forward to starting the day with you!

Inflammation Triggers with Dr. Nate

Dr. Nathan Moore, DC (Dr. Nate) is a chiropractor with over 17 years of working in the sports medicine and musculoskeletal treatment space. After dealing with deeper health issues several years ago and having great results through functional medicine, he decided to dive deep into functional medicine education. After treating family, friends, and a few patients he has decided to open a functional medicine practice virtually so that he can treat people from anywhere via telemedicine. The goal of this style of practice is to get to the deeper root of the problem, as opposed to treating symptoms, so that the downstream effect is an improvement in overall health and a healthy lifestyle.

In the Inflammation Triggers presentation on 11/13 I will discuss the deeper drivers and triggers of inflammation and how we address them through testing and multifactorial interventions to re-establish homeostasis and improve seemingly unrelated symptoms.

West Seattle Runner Halloween Lights Run

Join us for the West Seattle Runner Halloween Lights Run!! We will meet at the shop at 6:15pm. Feel free to wear costumes! Put on lights and reflective to be seen and use headlamps/flashlights to be able to see. We will map out an approximate 3 mile route to view Halloween displays in the 'hood. This will be a nice easy paced run, with walking and photo/viewing display opportunities, definitely not a race. If you see some great setups between now and then, let us know and it will help us map our route! We will also be celebrating October birthdays with some sweets back at the shop afterwards!
